IT'S TIME TO RENOVATE YOUR ROOF?

The maintenance and durability of structures depend on different factors, among them, the type of material they are made of. Its capacity to withstand during its useful life the different physical and/or chemical conditions to which it will be exposed will define the concept of durability. If it meets the objective of stability and resistance without excessively losing its usefulness, it can be said that the capacity will be optimal.

The useful life of a roof or covering is directly related to the characteristics of its material. In general terms, we can establish an average period of conservation located between 25 and 50 years from its installation. However, it can be longer or shorter depending on the characteristics of its composition:

Slate or ceramic tiles: These materials have a greater conservation capacity. However, durability will depend to a great extent on whether or not periodic maintenance work has been carried out.

Concrete: It also has excellent properties, although in this case its useful life is somewhat shorter, reaching 50 years from its installation.

Tiles built with Uralite: Its useful life is 25 years, if it has an effective annual maintenance.

Wooden roofs: Wood is more vulnerable to external agents, so it requires more maintenance. A wood installation can reach up to 20 years of useful life.
